Marconi Union - A Lost Connection - Out Now!
8th July 2010

'Minimal, introspective, ethereal electronica...Gorgeous' - The Guardian

'With it's warm lush drifting character, MU's latest foray into the realms of ambient electronica is likely to attract yet more comparisons with the likes of Brian Eno, John Metcalf and Labradford' - IDJ

'Richard Talbot and James Crossley have been melding the finest elements of dub, electronica, jazz, ambient and classical music into dreamy concoctions that lull the listener into a sweet static lullaby from which one would never want to awaken. From the beautiful electronic backdrop of 'Interiors' through to the euphoric 'We Travel' creating wave after wave of musical beauty, as precious as it is wondrous' - New-Noise.net

Enigmatic and reclusive Manchester based musicians Richard Talbot and Jamie Crossley have consistently avoided publicity and rarely grant interviews. A Lost Connection, their third album, is shaped around themes of isolation and disconnection, inspired by images of withdrawal from the world, a kind of inward journey in which desolation and remoteness are key factors. It is an extraordinary record, developing the themes of social disconnection whilst bringing a Lynchian psychosis to the proceedings. There is something primal here, unusual in contemporary ambient / electronic music and despite the music's apparent stillness it's stunning 'poetic and almost classical' (Echoes) depth and accessibility always manages to take the listener on a journey.

Originally made available in digital format only, A Lost Connection has been remastered by Guy Davie and is now available for the first time on CD and also in high quality digital download format though Linn Recordings.

'The atmospherics on this album are phenomenal, with a real sense of 'space' ( as in outer) in their stripped down electronic beats. Great album' - Subba Cultcha
