Marconi Union at the Union Chapel
9th March 2010
"going to the chapel...
spring is here (ooo-ooo-ooo)
the sky is blue (sky is blue)
birds all sing(oh the birds all sing).."

Marconi Union are playing as part of the Daylight Sessions at the Union Chapel, London, 12 o'clock (late breakfast / early lunchtime) this Saturday 6th March - so don't miss this rare free London treat from the very special Manchester based band who we're thrilled to have on the roster here at JM hq.

compared to the likes of Boards of Canada and Sigur Ros, with their own unique melange of electronica, ambient, jazz and dub, the 2 founder Union men, Richard Talbot and Jamie Crossley met and created the band - or rather it kind of evolved - whilst working together at a Manchester record shop - ah yes, remember those......?

critically acclaimed by the press (dont you just love that expression - but it's true) their first album "Under Wires and Searchlights" was released on Ochre Records, followed by "Distance" on Brian Eno's All Saints Records, with their album release story to continue very shortly right here with us....

"minimal, introspective, ethereal electronica. gorgeous" The Guardian

think 'space' ... think 'atmospherics' ...think 'soundscapes'..... above all think great music - and if you're finding that difficult (and who could blame you) then please just come along on saturday and you'll feel a whole lot better for it..

thanks for listening
