Beautiful Heart

ALL PROCEEDS OF SALE WILL GO TO CANCER RESEARCH UK

A treasured member of the Just Music family, this CD has been produced as a lasting tribute to Jain, her beautiful life and her music.

“My world may stop tomorrow
But yours will go on
And though you’ll feel pain and sorrow
Your joy (love) will be strong
Because…

You will have your beautiful heart”

Jain died of cancer on 3rd August 2013 at the Royal Marsden Hospital; her beautiful heart lives on….

This is what she said about cancer shortly before she died:

“The imperfection of cancer is that it didn’t bargain for the soaring highs of the human spirit. It does not have a soul; like a robot on a mission it tramps through the body but the mind in all its human glory is the last defence. If love alone can heal then I will be well”

“One day we will beat cancer. The more research we do the sooner that day will come”

This collection contains eight of Jain’s recordings, three original compositions and four covers. The three original songs were all written in 2008.

Jain’s songs:

Your Beautiful Heart
Jain’s expression of love and hope for her children; it is a deeply emotional song written to live on after her.
“The love I leave behind me Will keep you safe and warm ”

The Little Things
The little things light up life and give you wings – talking a little and making the sun come up.
“But the moment stays with you
When a child’s embrace
Can be all it takes
To make your day brand new”

Boy
When will boys ever learn?
“You know I’ve always been so good to you
Been there to comfort you and care for you”

Covers:

This Is The Life
Jain loved singing this song – the energy of the words and the demanding tempo of the music.
“And you’re singing the songs thinking this is the life”

Last Request
When you know its all over you think you are owed one more chance, one step back…
“Oh the wind whistles down
The cold dark street tonight”

Rebel Rebel
Bowie was Jain’s favourite artist and her stripped-down version with a strong bass line from Roy Parsons is a great salute to her musical hero.
“We like dancing and we look divine
You love bands when they’re playing hard”

Let it Be
This live version of the classic Beatles song was sung by Jain with Big Bill and the Write-Offs – a classic which was always a high point of their gigs and the words invoke her everlasting memory.
“And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be”
