Skyline and Imagined Conversation feature the sort of instrumentation which has become Leo’s trademark – ethnic percussion, cellos and guitar textures as well as a Guitaret, a rare 1950s instrument, with a similar sound to a vibraphone, which was given to him by Brian Eno. Leo’s new solo version of Footprints, inspired by Ry Cooder’s Paris Texas, has been going down a treat at his live shows while labelmate Jon Hopkins has created an atmospheric epic with his remix of Spider which begins with intricate electronics before settling into a hypnotic groove and climaxing with pounding live drums and heavy distorted bass for a fresh new take on the popular album track.
